The InSEA 'Sir Herbert Read Award' will be given to Prof. Dr. Vedat ÖZSOY in July.
The Honorary Chairman of GÖRSED, Prof. Dr. Vedat ÖZSOY, who is deemed worthy of the award, said: "The International Society for Education through Art (InSEA), an organization that has taken on an important role in art and design education and is the international professional organization for us art and design educators - established by UNESCO - organizes and distributes three important awards. The top and most significant of these is the 'Sir Herbert Read Award.' The award committee has deemed me worthy of this year's award. It will be presented to me during the InSEA general assembly meeting to be held in July in the Czech Republic. I will accept this award on behalf of all art and design educators in my country who have dedicated their lives to art and design education and on behalf of Gazi Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK and his friends, who prioritize and care deeply about training educators that will prepare the bright futures of our country. I am very happy to hear this beautiful news."
I believe that art education plays a very important role in the development of peace, happiness, and tolerance, as well as in the intellectual enlightenment of individuals in my country and around the world, alongside the development of artistic knowledge and skills and aesthetic tastes. As an educator who has dedicated my life to art education, I am very happy and honored that the work I have done in this field has been recognized with the Sir Herbert Read Award by InSEA. I would like to thank all my colleagues, especially the esteemed Ali Osman ALAKUŞ, who nominated me for this award, and the valuable members of the InSEA Award Commission who deemed me worthy of this honor. I express my sincere love and respect to them. We, as members of GÖRSED, congratulate our Honorary President Prof. Dr. Vedat ÖZSOY.
